This is #4 of the 20 scenes from the Coaching Days Series “Innkeeper talking to drivers, attendants boarding”. The Coaching Days series was drawn by Victor Venner, it was introduced in 1905 and it was withdrawn from production in 1955. On page 52 of volume 2 of Royal Doulton Series Ware; Louise Irvine describes 20 scenes in this series. This plate still has bright colors and the detail is just beautiful. There is a small repair on the rim, please see pictures. There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
