This hand painted plate is done on Rosenthal’s beautifully scalloped China mold called ‘Monbijou’. The Monbijou line was one of the earliest patterns introduced by Rosenthal, making its first appearance in 1896. Rosenthal used the Mark on these plates only up to 1907. The background is a soft peach color with almost a sponge effect allowing a cream color to show through. One single tall green wispy stem is painted in the center of the plate ending with delicate blue flowers. Piece is in excellent condition!
