English Majolica Plate ~ Turquoise with Fan, Birds & Prunus Flowers ~ attributed to Shorter & Boulton Stoke on Trent England 1879-1905 The plate has a rich turquoise pebbled ground with three fans with bird designs in wonderful raised relief. Brown branches of pink and yellow Prunus flowers accent around the fan designs. Blue and yellow birds decorate the white portion of the fans. The underside is a cream colored. Condition is great for the age, has minimal wear. There is a hairline crack on the rim so please see pictures. IT IS RARE TO FIND VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE MAJOLICA IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
