These two make me laugh! If you ever have owned a horse or ridden one that was just a little bit frisky or gay as the French termed it, you will definitely understand. The plates still have bright transfers and great detail in the decorations. Cavalier's #2 depicts a solder on a bucking horse, not even holding the reins! In the background you see a soldier watching and others riding by. #6 depicts a soldier holding on for dear life, while his horse s rearing up! There are two horse in the background one is bucking and the other one seems to be cooperating. The rims of these plates have a nice teal blue decoration. # 2. c'est bien le cheval qu'il vous faut. vous etes triste. il est un peu gai. Translates to: "This is the horse for you. You are sad. It is a little gay." #6. Je crois decidement que j'ai eu tort de s'engager dans la cavalerie. Translates to : "I think decidedly that I was wrong to engage in the cavalry." These two are free from chips and cracks and have no crazing. IT IS RARE TO FIND ANTIQUE FAIENCE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
