This is a lovely example of the artist's talents, completely hand painted. Barin has painted a fully bloomed yellow iris accented with a deep reddish brown around the yellow beard. He has placed the floral design slopping down one side of the plate. The background of the plate is painted in two sections of light grayish purple and a darker green giving the impression of the horizon and a hillside. He has completed his piece by painting a wide gold rim which ties the golden leaves into this masterpiece. The plate is signed by the renowned French art studio artist: 'J. Barin". Barin's artwork appears in Mary Gaston's 'Collectors Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain', where he is a listed studio artist. This 19th Century Limoges painter was known for his floral and berry china paintings. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
