What an awesome piece and so cute!! This pitcher is in the shape of a monkey with his mouth being the spout and his tail the handle. The detail in the facial features and ears is phenomenal and really brings this piece to life. There is an opening at the back of his head where it can be filled. The inside glaze is a blue green color and the outside is a honey brown. The monkey has crazing to the glaze, hairlines to the left and right sides of the head and handle. The handle appears to very solid even with the hairline. IT IS RARE TO FIND ANTIQUE MAJOLICA IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.

Backstamp: SARREGUEMINES impressed with 3322,then 227, 03 and 9

Measures: 9" H x 5 1/2" W
