The workmanship and details on this piece really catches your eye. It has a phenomenal shape! It sits on a footed base, has a slender body that curves outward forming an enclosed spout. The inside of the spout has been painted gold. The rim of the pieces is scalloped and reticulated. The handle makes this a WOW. It is very ornately reticulated and painted in gold. Raised relief swirls and designs in the mold give it an added touch. The background of the tankard has various colors reds, yellows and greens. The main motif are leafy vines with bunches of currants going around the body of the piece. This piece is not signed but the mold can be seen two separate RS Germany reference books: in RS Prussia & More by Mary Mc Caslin smaller version on pg 51 as in RS Prussia Popular Lines by Mary Frank Gaston page 317 Mold# 640. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Manufacturing anomalies may exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
