This is a Fulper Early Mug with a mirrored finish. It is was originally a part of a tankard set containing 4 or 6 mugs. It was manufactured by the Fulper Pottery Company of Flemington and Trenton, New Jersey between 1909 & 1916. The mug holds 8 oz when filled to top of mug. This would be perfect for the hot chocolate packets that only use 6 oz! The exterior of the mug is a high gloss of a mixture of gray, green, black and blue and has light gray interior. The piece is marked on the bottom with one of Fulper's earliest marks, the ink stamped larger rectangular Fulper mark with serifs. The mark is pictured in "The Fulper Book" by John Hibel, Carole Goldman Hibel and Robert DeFalco at page 78 Figure B. There is some glare on the pictures due to the flash and the shinny finish, it is not a blemish. The mug has some very light crazing on the inside, a difficult to see tight 1/2 inch hairline on the rim. IT IS RARE TO FIND VINTAGE EARTHENWARE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
