This elegant intaglio engraved art glass decanter is a very unique piece. One similar can be seen on the website Retroartglass in their museum section. It is a stunning cased and cut bell shaped decanter with hand-cut Art Nouveau design by Famosa LPW in Vienna, Austria. Circa 1920s – 1930s. They believe the LPW stands for Local Public Works. This decanter does not bear the original sticker. The exact form, different colors, has been documented with the Famosa label. The glass was hand-blown and hand-cut. The double overlay results in three layers of glass. The inner layer is milk white, the center layer is light amber/yellow, and the outer layer is dark amber/chestnut. The artist cut through the outer layer to the center layer to produce decor. The white and amber layers produce the “caramel” color. In excellent condition with only a few nicks to bottom of stopper. Please see pictures for condition.
measures 13.75″ tall with stopper 4” W
