This is a beautiful example of blown glass, very fine and fragile. I am amazed it has lasted this long and that it has the original stopper! The piece is clear glass with the main body of the decanter sitting on a supporting base. The stopper is round and truly beautiful. It is hollow and has air trap in the shape, indicating that it was blown into a mold. A golden flower has been painted on top of the bulbous stopper. The gold has been applied to the ruffled rim, handle and a ring around the base. Gold paste has been used to decorate the body of the decanter. When thumped with your finger it rings beautifully!! The two cordial glasses have an optical panel design with a wide gold rim. No chips or a crack, gold is a little worn which is associated with age and use, please see pictures to determine.
