These are a lovely pair of figural antique napkin ring. The rings are sitting on a lily pad with a lily stem wrapped around itself complete with a bud on the end to form a handle. It is also very unique with an added holder to the top of the ring. We assume that maybe a glass vial for a flower would have been used or maybe a candle. Engravings of leaf veins decorate the top of the leaf base and beautiful engraved flowers are on the top side of the holders. This is one of the oldest of this type that we have seen and the first with the added vase holder. On like these except withouth the vase portion can be found in the book "Figural Napkin Rings: Collector's Identification and Value Guide", by Gottschalk and Whitson, on page 203, plate 495. The napkin rings are in excellent condition. Please see pictures for condition. We have left them as we found them and will let the new owners polish them if they desire to.
