This black lacquer tray or "shovel" is decorated with polychrome and gold gilt Chinoiserie scene. The scene has beautiful gold flowers, pagoda, people, trees and birds in the background. In the foreground three figures, in oriental attire, are the main focus. The handle portion of the shovel has a nice lobed shape. There is a some wear to the gold gilt design and a crack on the rounded handle but it is still a very neat piece. Please see pictures for condition.
