The serving plate or under plate for this piece has a very versatile shape with a small protrusion at one end for a handle and a rounded spade shape on the other end for serving. The edge of the plate is slightly fluted and has gold accents applied over the white background. The lid to this beautiful piece also has ridges along the upper edges accented with gold. The sides and top of the lid are decorated with bright bold flowers of yellow, orange with deep green and blue leaves on brown stems. A small golden sprig of grass accents the main motif on the top. The twisted handle has been painted a deep cobalt blue. This piece has a x shaped crack in the lid but it is not visible from the outside, otherwise it is in excellent condition. Manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
