These beauties have a slightly scalloped edge and have purple and blue iris transfers scattered on a brilliant white background. Some sprigs of other purple and blue flowers are accenting the larger ones. These truly look like they have not ever been used. All of them are in excellent condition!
According to Mary Gaston’s 'Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain', 3rd Edition, this bowl is a rare find! There are very few examples found with any of the marks associated with Barny & Rigoni. This piece has been manufactured and decorated by the Barny & Rigoni Porcelain Factory in Limoges France, between 1894-1902. The company went through several partnership changes during its short life. It's first partnership was Barny Rigoni and Redon. When Redon left, it then became Barny Rigoni and Langle. They closed shop less than a dozen years after they opened and as a result, few examples of this company's work turns up on the market.
