I'm sure this was some ladies pride and joy back in 1917! The artist has created this masterpiece on a footed rectangular tray with round corners. He has painted awesome purple and white violets nestled around soft velvety green leaves and have placed a grouping of violets in two opposite corners balancing the piece. Amongst the purple violets in each group he has painted one white one which really grabs your attention. The artist has painted the flowers with great detail by accenting the centers with yellow and red strokes. He has placed the flora on a background of soft pastel colors. Finishing this piece off, he has added a gold rim framing the wonderful design. The artist "Zimmerman" has signed the back and dated it with "1917". There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
