This would be the perfect dish to put candy in! This is a great Etruscan majolica dish made by Griffin, Smith and Hill of Phoenixville, PA. This piece can be seen in the book "The Collector's Encyclopedia of Majolica" by Mariann Katz-Marks. The colors are a nice blend of greens, yellows and browns in the center and then outlined with the well know pinkish color associated with this company. The nice yellow band around the edge completes it perfectly. The underside is a wonderful green color. This piece has been loved and used well as you can see from the chips along the rippled edge, Please see pictures for condition. It will make a nice display piece and it needs a good home! IT IS RARE TO FIND ANTIQUE MAJOLICA IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
Backstamp: GSH within Etruscan Majolica circle
Measures: 9" L x 7" W x 2" H
