This is a beautiful old set! Blue transfer of flowers and vines has been applied over a brilliant white background around the cup and the rim of the saucer. A gold edge and handle accents the delicate transfers wonderfully and adds an extra elegance to the pieces. These sets were usually sold in a boxed set of six or twelve. A similar set can be seen in the “Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, First Edition," by Mary Frank Gaston. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
Backstamp: D & Co over Line Mark 2
Measures: 2 ¼” H x 3” W with handle, saucer 4 ½”
