These sets are absolutely wonderful! You could serve tomato soup and a grilled cheese using these and it would taste like a gourmet meal!! The artist has started with a white background which lets his design shine through. She has added sections of celery green bands and bands with soft white and violet flowers. The flowers are in each end of the band and connected together by wispy brown stems. She has connected the bands with art nouveau style leaves and has outlined the bans and leaves in black giving them definition. She has added gold handles and rims giving them an extra added touch. One of the saucers is slightly lop sided when you stack them together. The artist has signed the bottom of all the pieces “Martha R Moody 1918”. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
