The popular Oriental pattern shown here features a dark blue transfer pattern which has been enhanced with color. This has been called the most popular polychrome with luster Chinoiserie pattern. The pattern is commonly referred to as "The Tea House". The scene on the plate shows two Oriental maidens in a garden, one holding a vase while the other holds a lute. Both are looking off to the garden at the left. Inside the garden house (or tea house) to the right is a seated figure. This figure, presumably the chaperon, sitting in the house and can be seen through the window. The rim of this piece has beautiful floral and geometric designs outlined in black with just slight colors to the flowers. It is placed on a white background. Next to the brown rim are beautiful flowers enhances with red, green and gold. Colors and transfer are still nice and bright. The saucer has a hairline crack, please see pictures. The saucer is free so you are welcome to take it or not. Manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
