Delicate Egg Shell Porcelain Cup and Saucer ~ Hand Painted with Soft Pink Clovers with Gold Spider Webs ~ Jean Pouyat Limoges France 1890-1932

This is a beautiful cup and saucer made from egg shell porcelain. I am amazed that is has survived so many years! The artist has used a with background on the saucer and the outside of the cup. He has painted beautiful pink clover blossoms with green stems and leaves. Over this pattern he has used gold and created intricate lines resembling a spider web giving it a very unique look. The inside of the delicate cup has a wonderful pink background. He has completed this set with gold rims and a gold handle. This piece is in excellent condition with no cracks; it does have a flake to the base rim of the saucer. Manufacturing anomalies may exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
