Sterling Seed Pearl Amethyst Afghani Necklace

A delicate rare antique Afghani pendant necklace featuring amethyst and seed pearls.

The pendant has two drops, both have round bezel set faceted amethysts.

The top piece has a gentle dome with three concentric circles of tiny seed pearls framing the amethyst. The rows of pearls are interrupted with four coils of wire framed with twisted wire and topped with a solid bead of silver. The outer edge is scalloped with twisted wire and a single bead between the scallops.

The second drop is connected with fine wire with seed pearls, additional wired pearls hang from the drop.

The pendant hangs from the original bail embellished with solid beads framed with twisted wire.

The length of the chain is 16.5", the pendant and bail add 2.5" to the length so total length is 19". The top piece has a diameter of 7/8", the bottom is 3/8". The amethyst are 8mm and 7mm. Total weight is 8 grams.

Excellent antique condition, no obvious damage or wear, there may be missing strands of pearls though the pendant presents beautifully and being sold as shown.

Unmarked, the silver tested sterling with acid and is guaranteed. The necklace closes with a hook clasp.
