Antique Victorian Sterling Engraved Buckle Brooch

A charming sterling figural buckle pin with a lovely hand engraved design.

The octagonal pin has a gentle arch, the engraved design has the graceful flowing lines of Nouveau style. Perfect for closing a sweater or shawl.

Very well made and in excellent condition, no damage or visible wear, it closes with a C catch and heavy riveted tube pin stem.

Measures 1&5/8" square and weighs 9.57 grams.

Marked on the back Sterling with a hallmark and inscription in graceful script that reads "MTB Jan 22, 1911". The pin is from the Victorian period 1890-1900, it is older than the inscribed date.
