An exquisite antique Japanese cloisonne foiled enamel from the Meiji Period c1868-1912.
The high quality vase features an array of flowers on a background of foiled enamel in rich jewel tones.
The cloisonne vase is embellished with intricate designs in luminous colors with ginbari areas where foil was first put down on the body of the vase, then covered with transparent or translucent enamel creating a brilliant shimmering effect. The interior is counter enameled in turquoise.
Measures 6.25" tall, 3" around the widest part, 1&5/8" opening and 1.5" base.
Excellent condition, no damage, all original with only wear consistent with age, lovely aged patina.
