A wonderful antique Victorian bar pin with a lovely hard stone cameo of a standing Grecian woman playing a lyre*.
Very well carved with great detail and excellent dimension.
The cameo is beautifully mounted in a 14k Etruscan style setting.
Very fine wire work and beading embellishes the ends and center of the bar.
Exceptional workmanship and very fine stone carving makes this pin outstanding.
Measures 2&3/8" by .75" in the center, the ends are .5" wide, the bar is .25" wide.
It has a wide C tube clasp and hinged pin stem. Fine engraving on one side is the name of the owner, Ida V. Faust.
Condition is excellent, no damage and minimal wear, it retains the original patina, it is dark with oxidation..
Unmarked, it clearly tested 14k with acid.
