A beautiful vintage Majolica jardiniere planter from the Art Nouveau/Arts & Crafts period.
This design features pairs of raised leafy branches on a background of incised lines. The pattern repeats four times around the planter.
The shiny glaze is green with a blending of cranberry and just a bit of gold.
The matte glaze uses soft autumn colors in rust, green, yellow, brown and muted red. The inside of the vase is olive green.
The bulbous shape is perfect for the design and accentuates the leafy branches.
The vase stands 8" tall, the base has a diameter of 5", the top is 9.5" in diameter, the circumference around the widest part is 33.5".
Excellent condition, no damage or visible wear, beautiful rustic glaze. There are a few factory glaze skips, no distraction.
A striking example of a turn of the century Majolica jardiniere..
