A charming antique Victorian 10k rose gold snake ring with diamond eyes.
The serpent has long symbolized eternity, Prince Albert presented Victoria with a serpent ring upon their betrothal and it became a favored design to symbolize everlasting love.
The slinky snake wraps around the finger three times in the front, the smooth head has two small diamonds for eyes.
The body of the snake has a textured scale pattern in the front, the back is solid and plain.
The tail of the snake is separated slightly from the head, the neck also has a small separation before the three combine.
Ring size 8.5, the front of the ring measures .5", it tapers gradually to .25" in the back, the diamond eyes are just shy of 1mm.
Excellent antique condition, there is wear the scales though it certainly does not detract in any way.
Lovely aged patina and oxidation in the recessed areas of the pattern.
Marked 10k inside the shank with a star hallmark, total weight is 7 grams.
