A lovely Art Deco pendant set with a beautiful Peking glass cabochon.
Peking glass was very popular in the 1920s as it simulated the more expensive Chinese carved jade.
The glass has a subtle iridescence with lots of variations in the shades of green.
It is molded with a design of a bird within foliage and curls with pierced areas throughout the design.
Set simply in a sterling frame with a beautiful embossed pattern and a filigree design at the top, the bail has the same embossed pattern as the frame.
The pendant measures 1&5/8" by 1", the 18" sterling chain has eight cultured pearls staggered along the chain.
Very well made and in excellent condition, no damage or visible wear.
Marked sterling on the clasp, the pendant tested sterling with acid.
A beautiful Art Deco necklace with a great Peking glass cabochon.
