A wonderful antique sterling bracelet with a delicate floral design dating from the Aesthetic Movement 1870-1900.
This spectacular wide cuff has applied designs in rose and green gold and silver as well as hand engraved designs on the sterling and the gold.
The beautifully detailed floral and foliage is combined with a bit of asymmetrical geometric patterns on the sides.
It has a soft finish with bright cut engraving on the applied vine with feathery leaves and small flowers.
The edges of the bracelet have raised gold top lines framing the design and a row of raised dimensional scallops.
The hinged bangle is oval in shape so it is not bulky on the wrist.
The plain back is engraved in flowing script 'MCP'.
Measures 1.5" wide, the inside dimensions are 2.25" by just under 1&13/16", inside circumference is 6.75". It will fit a small to medium wrist.
Excellent condition, secure clasp and tight hinge, lovely aged patina. The back has one tiny very shallow dings, no distraction. The bracelet has not been cleaned or polished, I will be happy to do that if desired. The colors on the silver are reflections.
Unmarked, the silver tested sterling with acid.
Total weight is 48.3 grams.
A superb example of the Aesthetic movement design and truly unique and beautiful antique bracelet.
