A fabulous completely handcrafted Mexican sterling bracelet c1930s.
The design features repousse panels of faces or deities alternating with carved alabaster faces.
The carved faces are similar but not the same, the colors of the stone also vary.
The carved masks are set in bezels and secured with prongs at the bottom of the faces.
The repousse links are backed with solid silver.
Though somewhat primitive ethnic look, the bracelet is very well made with each panel hinged to the next.
Overall excellent condition, it has a warm sterling patina and a secure hidden clasp and safety chain. The mask on the tongue end has a crack in the bottom left corner but is held in by the tight bezel and secured with cement.
The bracelet is pre-eagle stamp, it is signed on the tongue 'Silver Mexico'.
Measures 7.25" by 1&1/8", total weight is weight is 73.5 grams.
Exotic and dramatic, an amazing handcrafted Mexican sterling bracelet.
