An extraordinary ethnic Indian bracelet completely handmade from 830 silver.
This is the last from my collection of this style bracelet which I believe is a 19th century tribal piece from Rajasthan, India.
The bracelet has six separate hand woven chains bound in three places with bands.
The chains are two different designs with the two most elaborate in the center.
The bands are embellished with filigree flowers, the edges of the bands are finished with decorative wire, the dimensional tiered flower serves as the clasp.
The bracelet is very well made and in excellent conditions. It has a dark patina that brings out the detail in the ornate wire work.
Unmarked, the silver was tested with acid to determine content.
Measures 7&5/8" by 1.5", it can be worn by a small to medium wrist as the clasp becomes difficult to hook on a large wrist.
Total weight is an impressive 120.5 grams.
Excellent condition, no major damage or wear. It conforms nicely to the wrist and once clasped it is very secure.
For collectors of ethnic jewelry this is a wonderful piece that can be worn and enjoyed and passed down through generations.
