A lovely vintage solitaire necklace beautifully made in 14k rose gold set with a large synthetic (lab grown) alexandrite.
The faceted stone is a rich purple with pinkish undertones. It is a deep stone cut with a large flat table and faceted edges, it is set in an elegant multi prong setting with concave scallops. The color was unusual enough that I had it checked and confirmed by a gemologist.
The design has a graceful transition to the shank, a subtle concave lense shape joins the setting to the band, two incised lines is the only other embellishment on the plain band.
The face of the ring including the scalloped frame is .75" in diameter, the stone measures 14mm (.5"). The setting sits 3/8" off the finger.
Excellent condition, no damage and minimal wear.
Marked 14k inside the shank, the stamp is only partially visible, the gold was tested to confirm content.
Total weight is 7.1 grams.
An elegant and unique Art Deco rose gold ring with a dramatic synthetic alexandrite.
