A personal favorite vintage jewelry technique was created by W. E. Richards Company of Attleboro, Ma. founded in 1902.
The Symmetalic line was developed in 1936, it used a layer of 14k fused to sterling or a layer of gold fill on top of sterling.
This pin is solid sterling topped with a layer of 14k.
The pin has a lovely lacy design featuring a translucent carnelian cabochon set in a bezel.
The carnelian is a rich orange color, the bezel is framed with beading.
The layered design includes dimensional flowers on a base of fine wires, a heavy border frames the detailed design.
Measures 1.75" by 1&3/8", the carnelian cab is 20mm by 15mm.
Marked on the back 'Symmetalic sterling & 14k'.
Total weight is 11.5 grams.
Excellent condition, no damage and minimal wear.
A great example of symmetalic sterling c1940s.
