A gorgeous vintage Yemenite silver granulated pin set with a garnet.
The subtly domed pin has a repetitive deign of concentric circles of flat wire alternating with very fine and intricate wire and bead work known as granulation.
The granulated rows have tiny circles of twisted wire alternating with rosettes of miniscule silver beads.
The rich red garnet is faceted and bezel set with an open back in the center of the circle.
The final edge has a row of twisted wire and a delicate scalloped edge of fine twisted wire.
Very well made with great attention to detail, the workmanship is clean and very precise.
Marked 935 for silver, a higher standard of sterling, and Palestine, the old name for Jerusalem.
Measures 1.75" and weighs a solid 14.4 grams.
Excellent condition, no damage or visible wear, it closes with a wide C catch. There is some old paste polish around the back of the stone and in some of the wire work in the front I will clean off with water.
A fabulous example of Yemenite jewelry c1940s.
