A charming antique Victorian 10k gold "honeymoon"* pin c1880-1900.
Beautifully made with precision, a small stemmed flower is nestled inside the crescent.
The dimensional flower has fine engraving on the petals, a fresh water pearl peg set in the center.
The crescent and leaf have tiny bead set seed pearls, the nineteen pearls in the crescent are graduated in size.
Excellent condition, no damage or visible wear, rich patina on the gold.
Measures 15/16" by 7/8", total weight is 2.2 grams.
Unmarked for karat, the pin tested 10k with acid.

*The honeymoon pin was a wedding custom in which a new groom presented his bride with a pin that was symbolic of their union. The crescent symbolized the 'moon' and flowers that symbolized nectar- the 'honey' portion of the word.
