An elegant 18k yellow gold Art Nouveau lavaliere necklace featuring sculptural ginko leaves with iridescent enamel and embellished with fresh water pearls and diamond chips.
The charming pendant is beautifully designed with flowing lines, the enamel is a soft green with yellow undertones from the gold shining through the translucent enamel.
The fresh water pearls hang from stems, one stem passes on top of one leaf, two come from behind.
Tiny graduated diamond chips are set in three places along the lines of the leaves.
The asymmetry is nicely balanced, the pendant hangs from a plain soldered bail and the original open link 18k chain.
The pendant is very well made and in excellent antique condition with very minimal wear to the enamel on the edges- no distraction. The gold has a rich patina and has not been cleaned or polished.
The lavaliere measures 1.5" by 7/8" including the bail, the chain is 18".
Unmarked, the pendant and chain tested 18k with acid.
Total weight is 10.2 grams.
A charming treasure from the late Victorian era and a superb example of an Art Nouveau lavaliere necklace c1890-1900.
