A dashing antique Edwardian beaver top hat c1901-1910.
The outside is beaver, very soft and silky to the touch, the inside is cream silk.
There is a black silk grosgrain ribbon adorning the crown where it meets the brim, the edges of the brim are also silk grosgrain.
It has the classic shape, the hat rises straight up from the brim, it widens just slightly at the top, the brim turns up on the sides.
The cream silk lining has an imprinted label in script 'Henry C Humphrey Burlington, VT".
The condition is excellent, the exterior beaver and silk grosgrain are in tact, no damage or visible wear, the inside is completely clean, it was inscribed in ink on the inside back on the side 'Don A Stow'.
The hat measures 6" high, the brim is 2" in the front and 1&7/8" in the back, the sides are 1.75".
The interior dimensions measure 7.75" long and 6&1/8" wide, the interior circumference is 21.5".
Displays beautifully when worn, a distinguished antique beaver top hat from the Edwardian period.
