A dramatic pair of sterling pierced earrings with lapis cabochons.
The drop earrings have lovely lapis lazuli cabochons set in scalloped edge bezels, posts for pierced ears are behind the cabs.
Dangling from the stones are large fan shaped silver drops with stamped deigns and applied stamped trim.
The silver 'fan' has a scalloped edge that matches the bezel, the lines radiating down give the piece the look of a scallop seashell.
The gently domed silver hangs from a loop on the back of the lapis which gives some movement to the earrings.
The earrings have post findings with large backs.
The earrings measure 2.25" long by 1.5" wide, total weight is 18 grams.
Excellent condition, no damage and minimal wear. They have not been polished and will come to a bright shine if that is the desired look.
Marked Sterling on the back and hallmarked Garcia. Possibly Native American or Mexican, I could not find the exact hallmark in either category.
A striking pair of vintage sterling and lapis earrings c1960-70s.
