An elegant pair of vintage cufflinks that embody the perfection that Kokichi Mikimoto was known for.
Each cuff link features a large, lustrous cultured pearl in the center of a circle made of four curled ribbons of gold.
The ribbons are very subtly graduated, thinner and slowly widening before they curl up distinctively at the ends.
The curling circle is very slightly concave and frame the luminous pearl perfectly.
The workmanship is superb and is obvious in the results.
The diameter of the design is 9/16", the pearls are 7mm, the cufflink mechanism is the classic hinged style, the bar measures .75" long, the pivoting bar is .75".
Both cufflinks are in excellent condition with no damage or visible wear.
Marked K14 with the M logo in a shell for Mikimoto.
Total weight is 9.6 grams.
A fine quality pair of cufflinks beautifully designed and made in 14k yellow gold with exquisite Akoya cultured pearls, very collectible and wearable for a man or a woman and easily worn for casual or dress occasions.

**Born in 1858, Kokichi Mikimoto was a self-proclaimed perfectionist. Propelled into adulthood at an early age, it would not be twenty years later that he would arrange and judge a pearl contest in his hometown of Toba. Displeased by the misshapen pearls he saw all around him, Mikimoto would make it his life's work to explore and create the world's most perfect cultured pearls.
