A wonderful example of a Victorian gold filled slide bracelet* with a sparkling paste stone in the slide.
The ornate slide has a layered design with paste stone in the center of a long petal flower.
The densely woven mesh band is very flexible and conforms perfectly to the wrist, it can be adjusted to the correct wrist size by gently pulling the band through the slide.
The bracelet has a 'keeper' with light engraving that secures the embellished tassel end of the mesh.
The mesh band measures 7/8" wide, the bracelet is approximately 8.5" long but adjustable to any size. The slide measures 7/8" by 11/16" by 3/8" deep, the paste stone is 3.5mm in diameter.
Very well made and in excellent condition, one tassel strand is missing the end bead, no distraction. Minimal wear, the bracelet displays beautifully.
A charming antique Victorian slide bracelet c1860-1900.

*During the Victorian era 1850-1900 the groom would give his bride two bracelets as a symbol of unity, and it was fashionable at the time to wear one bracelet on each wrist. Today it is rare to find a pair like this still together.
