A delicate Edwardian 10k yellow gold bar pin with a small but very sparkly mine cut diamond.
This diminutive style was most often a "lace pin", it was used to hold something in place- to confine a length of lace at the neckline or at the throat, sometimes to attach drapery at the shoulder. They often had sentimental meaning.
The pin has a slight dome, the center prong set diamond is framed with a circle of fine twisted wire.
Fine gold lines radiate from the stone, the final border has an embossed floral pattern.
Very well made and in excellent condition, no damage or visible wear.
Measures 1.25" by 11/16", the diamond is 1.5mm, total weight is 2 grams.
Marked 10k on the old style safety catch that works in reverse.
A lovely and feminine Edwardian lace pin c1901-10.
