A sweet antique sterling and enamel Victorian stickpin from Florence, Italy.
The petite stickpin has a hand painted fleur-de-lis* in brick red on a background of white enamel.
It s most often associated with the French royal family but it is certainly not exclusive to France and used by other nationalities as well. The colors red and white indicate it is Florentine in origin.
The inverted teardrop shape suits the symbol perfectly.
Very well done, the symbol has a lot of detail for such a small area.
Excellent condition, no damage, the stick is a bit wavy-no distraction, the silver has the original dark patina.
Total length is 2&3/8", the enamel teardrop is 7/16" by 5/16".
Marked 800 on the back, underneath the pin.
A charming antique stickpin and great addition to any collection.
