A fabulous Art Deco sterling bar pin with a dramatic design in 935 sterling, citrine, onyx and marcasite.
The pin came in the original box identifying it as Dutch in origin.
Three faceted citrine are set in the center with vertical rows of marcasites bead set between each stone.
The rest of the bar is onyx cut with a flat table and faceted sides.
The design is quite striking and very deco in style.
Measures 2" by 3/16", the center citrine is 10mm square, the rectangular ones are each 4mm by 7mm. The onyx are 5mm by 12mm.
The pin is marked 935 on the pin stem, a higher silver content than standard 925 sterling. Total weight is 5.2 grams.
Inside the box cover is printed 'Firma Kraftt Passage 24 Den Haag'.
Overall great condition, there is a chip off the side of one onyx, it is very hard to see when worn because the stone is black. It is detectable in photo #1 and #9, it is on the top side of the first photo, it is just a bit lighter in color and looks like a shadow. The last photo it is in the same place and appears as a slight dip in the line. It is almost undetectable when worn.
A truly wonderful example of Art Deco design from the Netherlands c1920s.
