A lovely Victorian hallmarked sterling handcrafted aesthetic movement pin from England.
The center has a raised oval with two different engraved floral designs split down the middle.
The top design has two forget-me-nots, the bottom has a sprig of lily of the valley.
Both of these flowers are symbolic of love....forget-me-nots represented true love and memories, lily of the valley symbolized sweetness, happiness and humility.
Below the oval is a recessed beaded edge, the next frame is a raised segmented frame with tiny solid silver beads, the outer edge is domed and has a series of larger beads.
Measures 1.75" by 1&3/8", total weight is 6 grams.
It has an old C style catch and tube pin stem.
The hallmarks identify the piece as English with the anchor for Birmingham, the lion for sterling silver purity and date letter mark q for 1890. A second series of identifies the maker as GL&Co, mark of G. Loveridge & Co,
Excellent antique condition, no damage and minimal age appropriate wear, lovely aged patina.
