A spectacular handcrafted sterling necklace with a fabulous transitional Arts & Crafts/Art Deco design accented two carved carnelian and rock crystal cabochons.
The necklace has a series of five graduated pierced pendants and handmade chain.
The three center links have bezel set cabochons dangling from the bottom- two carnelian and a quartz between them.
All three sugar loaf stones are carved with a linear design that radiates out from the center. It is hard to see the carving on the carnelian but it is the same as the clear quartz.
The handmade chain has flat rectangular links connected with pierced links.
The necklace measures 17" long, the center link hangs 2.5" long, the stones are .5" square (13mm). The dramatic design spans 4" across, the necklace closes with an usual hook clasp.
Very well made and in excellent condition, no damage and minimal wear.
Signed on the back CDW and Sterling, I could not find the maker.
Total weight is 37.2 grams.
A truly wonderful and unique necklace c1910-1920.
