A beautiful Austrian sterling pendant necklace c1920s.
The pendant has an oval of rich green guilloche enamel in the center, a pattern of fine engraved lines can be seen through the translucent enamel.
The enamel oval is framed with a scalloped border embellished with raised beads in graduated sizes. The beads were made to resemble marcasite.
A delicate sterling floral bouquet in a basket embellishes the enamel, three drops hang from the pendant, each drop is set with two marcasites.
The triangular bail has the same raised beads as the pendant, the pendant hangs from an 18.5" chain.
The total length of the pendant including the bail and drops is 2&5/8", the pendant alone (without the drops) is 1&5/8" by .75".
Very well marked on the back~ Sterling, the Austrian mark of the hoopoe bird and the letter W for Vienna, 2 for 900 silver and a hallmark of the maker, GS.
Total weight is 11.5 grams.
Excellent condition, no visible damage or wear, very clean, near mint condition.
