Antique 14k Rose Gold Black & White Hard Stone Cameo Ring

A fabulous antique Victorian ring with a wonderful sardonyx black and white cameo c1860-80s.

The layered black stone has natural bands of white, it makes perfect material for cameos.

The cameo is expertly carved with clean, crisp lines so that the raised figure is white and the background is black.

Fabulous detail with high relief, the workmanship is very precise.

The sardonyx cameo is set in a classic Victorian 14k rose gold oval box setting.

The thick shank is plain, the only embellishment is a strip of gold on the sides where the setting meets the shank.

Ring size 5.75, the cameo measures 10mm by 15mm (approx 9/16" by 3/8") the shank is just shy of 3/16", total weight is 3.9 grams.

Excellent condition, no damage and minimal wear.

Unmarked, the gold tested 14k with acid.
