An adorable 14k yellow gold pin of a young nude child standing on a natural pearl and gazing into a hand mirror.
Similar to the pins of William Ruser who did a series of pins, one for each day of the week.
The theme of the pin comes from a poem...Monday's Child..who is fair of face*.
The pin is very well made and in excellent condition, no damage or wear, secure safety catch.
Measures 1&38" by 5/8", the mirror is 3/8" and it weighs an impressive 6.8 grams.
Unmarked, it was tested with acid to determine karat.
A charming vintage pin.

*Though uncertain, the traits assigned to each given day probably parallel traits assigned to planets, the Sun, and the Moon represented by various Gods in Norse, Roman, and Greek mythology. Monday's child is fair of face. (Mon=Moon, with its 'face')
