An amazing pair of antique earrings from the Georgian period. Expertly crafted in 14k gold, each earring has 12 rose cut diamonds in different sizes. All diamonds are set in closed back cups, the five largest diamond are prong set in closed back settings. The earrings have three sections. The first diamond is set inside a flower, it is attached to the pierced ear wire. The center section has nine diamonds, they are framed with a thin raised line of black enamel. The hanging drop has a rosette that matches the top piece with the addition of a small diamond set within a diamond shape. Simply breathtaking!
The entire length of the earrings from the top of the ear wire is 2.25", the width is 11/16". Very well made and in excellent condition, tiny enamel loss noticeable under magnification. Solid backs, the total weight is a solid 10 dwts, (.5 troy oz/ 15.552 grams). Original dark patina, they have not been cleaned or polished. Two stamped hallmarks on each ear wire that are not legible, the earrings tested 14k with acid. Rare, fine quality antique Georgian earrings. Shipping and insurance are free for this item.
