A fabulous pair of handcrafted Mexican sterling earrings using design elements that are rich in Mexican culture.
The drop earrings have two distinct designs that use several techniques of silversmithing.
Two repousse lovebirds sit atop a puffy heart, a dimensional flower joins the birds to the heart.
The details in the birds are engraved, the flower has tiny stamped designs on the petals and a pegged spectrolite bead in the center.
The second part of the earring has a flat hoop embellished with a row of repousse domes that give the outer edge a beaded look.
A small repousse flower is in the center, fine applied wire swirls out from both sides beneath it.
The final touch is four spectrolite beads that dangle from the bottom.
The workmanship is incredible- so intricate with fine detail, the total look is balanced and so enchanting!
The length is 1&7/8" from the top of the ear wire to bottom of the beads, they are 7/8" across the widest part.
Marked ME.44 Mex 925, total weight 5.7 grams.
Excellent condition, no damage or visible wear, perfect aged patina, secure closure on the ear wire.
An exotic pair of Mexican sterling earrings handcrafted with precision and depicting sentimental universal symbols of love.
