An exceptional example of an Art Nouveau festoon necklace made by A. Alling & Company c1880-1900.
Stunning and very hard to find, the 14k yellow gold necklace features an amazing enameled centerpiece of a young woman.
Her lovely face is beautifully enameled with pale, translucent enamel.
The enamel has a slight iridescence, her features are done in a matte enamel.
She is wearing a tiara set with five bead set mine cut diamonds and four bezel set rubies.
Her golden curls swirl around her neck, a large diamond earring and a double strand of gold beads embellish her beauty.
Fabulous attention to detail, the enameled disk is framed with thirteen peg set pearls.
Fine chains hang gracefully around the centerpiece creating a decorative web, nine bezel set diamonds and seven pearl drops complete the elaborate design.
Meticulously crafted and in excellent condition, no damage or visible wear, this piece is in near mint condition.
Measures 16.75" long, the center disk has a diameter of 1", it is 1&7/8" from the top of the disk to the bottom of the center diamond and pearl drop.
Total weight is 12 grams.
Hallmarked on the back with the upside down clover leaf with 14 and an A under it, hallmark for A. Alling & Company* of Newark, New Jersey.
